my senior capstone project, 'little guy' is an idea for a crocheted plushy brand, made for everyone, especially collectors and lovers of cute things. little guy is not only a branding and packaging project, but also a passion project. during the making of this capstone, i was able to re-connect with my inner child after primarily creating corporate, more sophisticated and “by the book” graphic design throughout my college career. my design process consists of a lot of doodles and scrap pieces of paper. with this project, I was also able to better my crochet skills (since i had only first tried this medium around a year ago) and dive deeper into exploring logo and package design. I was also able to screen print and use a vinyl cutter for the first time, which I learned a lot from. while brainstorming ideas, I was afraid to do something that has already been done, but I knew this project would bring me joy and I could crochet my own pattern from scratch so I stuck with it. I knew i could make little guy something of my own. i'm happy and grateful I was able to share who I am through my capstone! here is my the brand I created, my process, and the final exhibition set up.
